Goldie — Inner City Life (Burial Remix). “It’s so Burial eh, his dusty fingerprints are all over it. He’s all about creating these feelings of personal experiences. All his productions sound like fragmented, hazy, drug altered memories of nights passed; half finished, choppy, imperfect. They are banks of experience, rather than just tracks in their own right. I really appreciate that he’s doing that, there are interesting narratives & scenery in his music. I always feel transported somewhere when i listen to them, which is more than I can say for a lot of artists. I think in terms of tackling a classic like Inner City Life, he’s definitely made a good job of riffing on what a decaying memory of inner city life / the London bass continuum of the early to mid nineties, might sound like. “ All the right feels. #20170520_5779 / 20 May 2017 / 21:42 / Music
