A beautiful print by John Tibbott paying tribute to the Harry Potter series

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) was a brilliant and satisfying end to a fantastic ride that lasted a decade. I am a huge fan of the books and it’s been wonderful seeing them come alive on film, though truth be told, the movies really got going for me starting with Prisoner of Azkaban.

The whole Harry Potter movie series has been a tremendous showcase of wonderful British acting talent – past, present and future. There are too many actors to name, but Alan Rickman (as Severus Snape) was an exercise in restraint and Gary Oldman played Sirius Black exactly the way I imagined my favourite Harry Potter character in my head.

Goodbye Potter and friends, it was good knowing you. I hope one day my daughter will get to read, watch and maybe even learn from JK Rowling‘s fantastic tale about “confronting your fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity”.
