Kamome Shokudo (かもめ食堂) is a Japanese film shot entirely in Finland and I caught it on my current favourite TV channel yesterday. The film had some comedy, some sadness, some soul-searching, some nice Finnish scenery and quite some food. There were themes of loneliness, sorrow and freedom—generally sad things—but when the movie ended, I found myself feeling quite happy.
