George Dawes was an English portraitist who painted 329 portraits of Russian generals about 200 years ago. Replaceface is a funny-as-hell personal project by Steve Payne, where he transposes faces of friends and celebrities onto portrait ‘templates’ of Dawes’ Russian generals.
